My first step in real estate began with a simple question: I asked myself, should I buy or rent? All confused and lost I went to my local credit union and asked them, “how do I buy a house?  Can I even buy a house?” Long story short, the bank approved me for a loan and I bought something that fit our needs at the time.

Since then, I’ve acquired two rental properties and plan on owning my third by the end of 2020. Because of this experience, I would say rentals are my area of expertise. I love how there are an endless number of investing paths in real estate that to financial independence and creating passive income. I love that no deal is the same and the challenge that it brings. The feeling of getting a set of keys to your new house and beginning your new adventure is indescribable.

When I have free time you can find me spending it with my wife and kids (Abi, Alex, and Elias). We like to go on walks and enjoy regional parks like Lebanon Hills Regional Park. I was in the Marine Corps, I can speak Spanish, and I believe in financial independence and being able to choose to stop working before actual retirement age with the help of real estate. I love helping others work toward this same goal.

There is always something to update in our home and we take it one project at a time. Currently, we are taking out the carpet and installing laminate flooring in our basement, along with painting the whole space.

My favorite places to show and sell houses are St. Paul (Frogtown, Midway, Hamline, Mac Groveland, Selby), Rosemount, Apple Valley, Lakeville, Farmington, Burnsville, Shakopee, Chaska, Chanhassen, and Eden Prairie, to name a few.

My favorite styles of homes are ranch and contemporaries. When it comes to my dream home, I would want a ranch style home just because I love the convenience of having everything on one floor. I would want to have enough space to host family and friends. To enjoy meals together and eat amazing food all the time. If I could live anywhere, I would want to live in either Colorado or South America. I would choose Colorado because of how many sunny days they have in a year. Otherwise, Central to South America would be amazing like Colombia or Ecuador, maybe Belize. Anywhere where the weather is amazing! Sunny, not too humid and not too many bugs.
